Hello! We are Cy and Claire. We are a young couple from Tucson, Arizona in the United States. We're both students traveling Europe for the summer and looking for new opportunities and cultural experiences.

Claire
Some of my favorite things include exploring the outdoors, running, yoga, and adventure! I am passionate about human rights and building community. I'm currently working on a degree in Human Development and Family Science with the goal of becoming an outdoor youth educator. I love working with children and animals. I really love to talk to and get to know all different types of people. I think it's so important to talk to and get to know people from all around the world and from all different walks of life. I'm driven by curiosity and love, which is why I am traveling and seeking new experiences abroad. I want to broaden my scope of the world through exposure to new things and cultures.

Cy
I’ve lived in Arizona, USA my whole life and have always loved traveling and exploring new places. This summer will be my first time in Europe and I am very excited to experience life there, meet new people and learn about their cultures. My hobbies and passions include cooking, music, cycling, skiing, and just being in nature. I’m currently a student studying political science to better understand the complex systems of government and economics and how they can be used in a positive way to encourage real change for humans and animals. While I would like to work in that field to help progress society through science, I am still discovering my path and how I want to live life. That is why I am so excited for our upcoming adventure in Europe to experience new cultures, foods, people, and places.

Quais são suas habilidades?

We are an active, hard-working couple who would love to learn new skills and help you wherever you need us. We only speak English but are both good with people and communication. We’d love to stay with you this summer and help out however we can.

Claire
I've been working on an urban educational seed-to-table farm since I was 16 years old. This gave me experience with gardening, cooking, and educating. My second job is working in the Outdoor Recreation program at my university, which has given me a wide variety of skills, including outdoor trip leading, outdoor gear maintenance, car maintenance, and customer service. This job has prompted me to get my Wilderness First Responders certification. This certification means I am trained to handle a variety of medical situations and emergencies, specifically in the outdoors. Additionally, I am great with children. I grew up taking care of my little siblings and cousins, and I have lots of experience babysitting. Also, I grew up with dogs and chickens, which has given me a love for working with animals.

Cy
Growing up, I went to a school with a garden, chickens, and goats, and I have always had exposure to gardening and farm work. I’ve worked 2 jobs in the food industry and have also worked a job in construction. Through these jobs and life experience, I have skills with cooking, cleaning, masonry, landscaping, and general maintenance. I love cats and dogs, and I’m great with animals in general. This is my first workaway but I have some prior experience with volunteering at a migrant shelter and at a recycling center.
