I stayed at Fejo for ~10days in August, my first workaway, I am very happy for the opportunity I had, to stay at Astrid house.
Astrid is a very kind & generous person, she is very flexible regarding the work, gives the most freedom and self-autonomy to the workawayers staying at her place.

I worked in the garden, with the animals, helped in the pancakeday that Astrid organizes once a year and some work in the house (cleaning walls and bricks), overall was a great experience.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Such a great spontaneous trip it was! Fejø is a tiny island where you greet everybody you happen to meet, and they are all very nice people. Since I was the only workawayer present, I spent a lot of time with Astrid, her hens, cat and rabbits. The board of tasks does hang on the wall, although we improvised a lot depending on what needed to be

When it's rainy, or you just don't feel like it, you work less one day, then more another day, no matter when throughout the day, it's simply your responsibility. I was given privacy, and time to explore literally every road on the island. Yet we were talking a lot while either eating, working or chasing the rabbits. Astrid is a crazy woman in a good way, fun to be with and very caring; she thought of my lactose intolerance, helped me to bake the Danish cinnnamon rolls I had wanted to taste so badly and took me to the open cinema to see a film under the star-sprinkled sky. Thank you for having me, Astrid!Dieses Workawayer Profil wurde auf privat gestellt.

It was my first experience with "workaway".I spent a week in Astrid's house, the location is marvellous(in the island Fejo where from her farm you can enjoy of a spectacular views, the sea is just "beside").I had a great time helping her with some tasks(where since the begining I felt so free to choose my homework schedule and the tasks I was about
… read more to do).My stance was lovely: I learnt many things(related with farm, house building...)I was able to walk and bike around the island(wich is so beatiful and peaceful),visit some neighbors farms...I just have only good words for her,she was lovely : always able to help me around,to exchange ideas,up to talk...I highly recommend her,and just to finish I have to say that the main and most important learning I took from this experience is that "if there is a will there is way",if before I could have some doubts about this way of thinking or did not believe in it enough, after this stay in this house,I ended up reinforcing it,thanks so much Astrid.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

We stayed at Astrid’s for 10 days in early September.
It was our first workaway experience, and we were very lucky to stay at Astrid’s small farm!
We helped renovate the house, build fences for the rabbits and chicken, split firewood, and cook meals. Astrid let us choose our own tasks, and it was exciting to try different things every day.

We often walked to the sea to watch the sunset, and nights are great for stargazing, especially in the open farmland.
During our stay, there was a local lunch gathering where we could socialize with other people from the island. The locals we met were all extremely warm, willing to chat, and helping each other.
We’re very grateful for our stay, and very excited to see how the farm will grow:^) Mange tak!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I did my first workaway here and it really was an inspiring and amazing experience.
First, about Astrid: she's really special, one of the most welcoming people I've ever met. She made sure we always had all we needed (mostly for me and Livia was food :D) and always tried her best to make us feel like home. She has a lot of projects for her place
… read more and she loves to talk about and share her dreams, so helping her really feels like you're truly helping someone achieving her goals, which is one of the best feeling in the world.
She's very easygoing with the work you can do, there are some priorities some days but you can choose very different tasks that fits you better, from woodworking to applepicking, from animal care to renovating the house, everyone will find something nice to work on.
About the place: like Astrid, it's really special. Her lovely house is transforming into something beautiful, the garden is so nice and the best place to watch the sunsets (if you're an early bird also sunrises). I liked also working with the animals in the field, especially the rabbits which seem to appreciate very much the tiny wodden shelters Astrid taught me to do.
The small island is something you will enjoy exploring for sure, you just need a bike and you can easily go to the small beach at the far end of the island 4 km away from Astrid's, passing by the local products that you can buy exposed in front of the houses of the island. If you get the chance to know the locals, there's only friendly faces, you can listen to fascinating stories of other people born or settled on the island. It really is a small paradise. The ferry in August was free, so it's easy also to go and explore the big island of Lolland, "the other side"!
I also met two workawayers during my 10 days stay, one already mentioned (Livia) and Sophie, which transformed the already magical experience into something amazing by sharing the work and the exploring of the island and of the other side.
Thank you Astrid, Sophie and Livia, for me Fejø will always be a place to go from now on!

I had great two weeks with Astrid. She was so welcoming and always making sure we were happy & had the fridge full of good things. Besides that, she is a very happy, uncomplicated and comunicative person. The Island and her property are sooo pretty and I think I’ve never seen so many sunrises and sunsets like in those two weeks. Astrid had a board

If you look for a very quiet and calm place to stay, enjoy nature, meeting the very friendly Island people and work independed, then I think you will be very happy at Astrid’s place. Thank you again for everything Astrid, I hope you get forward with the renovations as planed and I can’t wait to enjoy one day your pancakeparty. Take care :)Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Fejø, the apples island! Don't miss the opportunity to share Astrid's life in her house under renovation and her big land!
I stayed in Fejø almost 2 weeks, met Jensen the dog, Møller the cat, the sheeps, the chickens and the rabbits who happily live with Astrid.
I also got the chance to meet other workawayers, with whom it was great to work and

Astrid is a very generous and energetic woman with a lot of projects in mind for her house and land. You will not get bored. Work was mainly about apples (picking up, cooking), wood chopping, renovation work, fencing for the animals and cleaning the house. We were very free to organize our daily working hours as we wished according to a list of tasks and it was easy to communicate with Astrid about what to do and how to do it.
Astrid's kitchen is full of food and various ustensils to cook great meals. If you miss anything, she will do her best to get it for you from the local shop or from "the other side"! Be ready to try Astrid's pancakes!
I slept in the tiny house in the garden, which is very comfortable and great fun. Chickens and sheeps wake you up in the morning and you get amazing sunrise and sunset.
A very good experience in Fejø. Don't hesitate to meet Astrid, her animals, neighbours and friends!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.
