Description
Our Hotel opened in 2019 with the dream of becoming the best boutique hostel in Minca, Colombia. Over the years we have rather become a hotel that also offers dorms. We have the capacity for 52 guests and offer a mix of dorms, private rooms, and individual houses for rent. We are a women-run hotel (except for our manager and maintenance guys) and our team consists of 20 local staff working in the restaurant, bar, reception, cleaning, and maintenance. The team is being led by our manager Andrés, assistant manager Eliana, and me.
Our hotel is situated ten minutes from the beautiful jungle town of Minca. With fantastic views over the jungle canopy, all the way to the city of Santa Marta and the ocean beyond! Apart from the amazing views and the beautiful jungle surroundings, we picked this location because it has the unbelievable perk of having a secret waterfall just a ten-minute walk from the hotel! The building, which dates back 100 years, is a large Colonial house that we were renovating in 2019 to become the perfect, modern, and beautiful house for our hotel guests.
It is a place for guests who seek a calm stay with a focus on closeness to nature and amazing food and drinks. We have hot water installed throughout the hotel! We have a restaurant that is open to the public and that has always been the heart of our hotel!

Minca is one of Colombia's most popular tourist destinations and has an array of amazing activities and experiences, including Hiking, Waterfall Swimming, Mountain Biking, Horse Riding, Bird Watching, Coffee and Cacao Tours and Partying with the locals!

*️️️️️You will have all your meals included as well as free coffee, tea, water, and as many mangoes and avocados as you can eat.
* You will also have free laundry.
*️️️️️On your free days, you can easily change the jungle for the beach and city, Santa Marta is only 45 minutes away, and Tayrona Park is just over an hour away.
* We have partnerships with several hotels in Palomino and on the beach, which give you access to stay FOR FREE at these places during your volunteer experience with us. You only pay for your consumption. Their volunteers also come and stay for free at our hotel, so you will be able to have a nice exchange with volunteers from other places.
Help
We are looking for a volunteer who can give yoga classes to our guests as well as plan and carry out activities. We have a special place for our yoga classes where we offer yoga mats for the guests to borrow and we have a speaker that you can use to play music. We offer one class a day from 8 am to 9 am.
While we are ideally looking for people with experience and skills in the relevant areas, the personality of the volunteers is just as important, and we are only looking for people who are creative, fun, and friendly, and can join our team for a minimum of one month. You will help five days each week and have two free days.

Accommodation
You will sleep in a private room that is next to our office. It is a small room with a 160cm bed and your own private bathroom. The room has a fan. Every day, you will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner made by our chefs. You will eat the staff meals together with the rest of our staff.
What else ...
Our hotel is located just outside of Minca town, 20 minutes walk or 7 minutes on a motorbike from the hostel. Minca town is small, but over the last few years, it has gone through a big change and is now a place with lots of tourism and a lot to offer. In Minca you will find small shops often with handcrafted things like bags and jewelry. There are also some nice restaurants, cafes, bars, a chocolate & coffee museum, and many more cool things to do in and around the area.
From Minca you can easily get to Santa Marta by car, motorcycle, or bus in about 30 minutes. This gives you the freedom to experience all that Santa Marta has to offer as well. While the jungles of Minca are the perfect place for hiking, bird watching, off-road motorcycle tours, and refreshing baths in the rivers and local waterfalls, Santa Marta offers beach life, nightclubs, restaurants, cafes, and a lot of history and culture. Santa Marta is an important Caribbean coastal city also known for being the connecting hub thanks to its closeness to the jungle, the Sierra Nevada mountains, Tayrona Park, Palomino, many beaches, and the desert in La Guajira. So come and enjoy the best that Colombia has to offer, whilst helping us build something amazing!
