This was a fantastic and comfortable experience for a first Workaway! From the moment Dana picked me up I felt taken care of; tasks were greatly varied and really interesting with the overarching aim in May being getting the elk fences done to protect the gardens - I enjoyed learning about Dana and Ken (who does a great BBQ!) they have a real

It was a plus being able to prepare my own food and wind down in the evenings, I recommend waiting around the feeders at dusk for a swarm of hummingbirds! The garden is so varied and interesting - you're really in the middle of the forest here and there are so many Roosevelt Elk.
Hope all is going well with the various projects and I'm so grateful to have had this opportunity: you will find a truly tranquil experience here. Thanks Dana & Ken.This workawayer has chosen to keep their profile private, but can be contacted regarding this feedback by other workawayers.

Dear Denna, dear Ken
Thank you very much for the warm welcome! I was able to wind down very well and do meaningful work at the same time. I also really enjoyed the conversations with you and was able to familiarise myself a little with the language.

Thank you very much and maybe see you! soon

Shawn was a great help around here. His skills are varied and very knowledgeable. We gave him tasks to complete and completed them without question. We are hoping to have Shawn back again soon .

Thank you Danna and Ken , for the stay in the beautiful newer tiny home and your hospitality, it was nice to be able have my independence in the evenings and then be social during the working time. Your property was a great place to watch the garden grow and the humming birds visit daily . Easy access to the lake and so close to natural piece and

I learned a lot of what I am capable of doing now and where I still need improvement, thank you for providing the flexibility. I appreciate the home cooked clam chowder and the endless cheddar cheese. May you have many more positive experience in your life going forward.Feedback

I thank Ken & Dana so much for their hospitality, for sharing their home and their thoughts with me, and for giving me a great time that I will never forget. For four weeks I was able to call the sweet little tiny house in their beautiful garden, which was also my main workspace, my home. On work days, Dana would pick me up and most of the time we

Dana and Ken even helped me realize my own building project. After work, Ken sometimes surprised us with his super tasty barbecue skills and I got to explore beautiful Lake Cowichan and the surrounding area, sometimes with Dana and his kayaks. It was a great experience that I will never forget. I'm already a little homesick for your place! Thank you so much for that! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I would like to share my feedback on my stay with my hosts Dana and Ken. It was an incredibly diverse and educational experience that I would not want to miss. During my stay, I had the opportunity to do a wide range of activities that helped me to expand my skills.
One of the highlights was the opportunity to immerse myself in various gardening
… read more tasks, including the assembly of a small greenhouse. This experience allowed me to contribute to the development of the estate while enhancing my understanding of horticulture and construction skills.
I was also able to improve my manual skills, particularly in the area of woodwork. From chopping wood to sanding wood, I was able to take on various tasks.
Overall, my workaway was an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only did I learn new skills, but I also gained valuable insights into a different way of life and culture. I am deeply grateful to my hosts for the opportunity to be part of their project.
Thank you very much for giving me this opportunity.

Ted was great to have around, he is a great worker that is always enthusiastic to get things done. His English has improved which was one of his goals. Always kept the accommodation neat and tidy and respected our home. If Ted ever wanted or needed a place he would be more than welcome. I would highly recommend Ted if you are needing a helper.

I stayed almost 2 weeks at Dana and Kan's place. They were super nice with me and we were not in a rush. I appriciated!
I slept in a tiny home super nice!
You will wake up with the sound of birds every morning.
