Description
Welcome to "" a cultural and artistic refuge in the small village of Mojstrana, where chickens are more famous than culture! The house, managed by the Cultural Artistic Association, is dated back to 1779, and it also represents the architectural heritage of this place. The name of our association, ," comes from the local dialect and means "fresh spring wind that brings changes." This name reflects the freshness and new beginning that we want to bring to this natural environment, surrounded by alpine beauty.
Our vision is clear: we want to create an oasis of creativity, where ideas, creativity, and diversity interweave, where young and old expand their horizons through art and culture. We desire a world where borders do not separate people, where diversity is valued, and where tolerance reigns in the spirit of open socializing.
In our association, enthusiasm for artistic expression is as free as the wings of village poultry. We come together to create and explore, and when asked which is better - chicken or culture, we answer: "Why not both?" Follow us into a world where even chickens whisper about art, and where every day is an opportunity for a new artistic miracle!
Our members are world travelers, photographers, filmmakers, painters, musicians, and other individuals who bring their uniqueness, skills, and knowledge. Together, we will create a program that is high-quality and carefully prepared. Their presence will ensure a rich and diverse program.
Let "this" become an oasis of creativity, originality, socializing, and community, valuing the uniqueness of individuals. We would like that community vibe to become part of the house and we would like to share our art projects and our knowledge through workshops and events.

The travelers will be actively involved in life in our mountain village. Living with a Slovenian family, and spending time with locals will provide travelers the opportunity to learn about different cultures, food, music, even language.
Since we are filmmakers we will organise filming workshops and art events from local artists. We also have portable cinema which will be available for our guests. Since one of us is also mountain guide we can take our guests climbing, hiking, swimming and offer other outdoor activities. One of our hosts is specialised in baking so we can share local recipes of local food that is made in traditional wooden stove. Village Mojstrana is in the heart of the Alps. Biggest mountains in Slovenia are in this area. Also big valleys, glacier rivers and lakes are to be find in the valley. If you like outdoor activities this place is a paradise.

We are documentary filmmakers and artists with two sons (7 years and 4 years old) and a grandpa dog who started the association
Our activities are designed to encourage the exploration of different cultures and oneself. Among these will be travel lectures, movie nights, acoustic music evenings, a living library, exchange of used items, board game nights, and much more. Each activity will be an opportunity for deeper exploration of different cultures and oneself, connecting, and preserving the tradition of socializing.
The “” Association will also support its projects with some profitable activities, such as film production, local breakfast delivery supporting local farmers, and renting spaces for workshops and events. All profits will be reinvested in the development of this place and the projects we carry out.
Therefore we ask workaway participants to help us with the activities we carry out and with the non-profit projects.
In June 2024 the Association will host an event for young and young at heart. At the event we will have old school traditional games for kids, dj for kids, concert for grownups, and a dj set in the night, all artists deriving from the valley. All through the event we will have a food truck with barbecue food and drinks. For this specific event we need up to 5 travelers to help us with setting up the event avenue, diy building of stage ,and other structures will be needed. The event will take place on 22nd of June 2024. Therefore we are expecting travelers to help us from 18th of June on (for around 5 days).

Interested in using languages that I already speak and learn a new one - Portuguese. In return I offer to teach you Slovenian, not that it would help you much, as there are only 2 million people in the world communicating in Slovenian language. :)
Accommodation
The house is big (3 floors) so we have plenty of space to sleep. When the association place is not rented out or is not in use for activities, the workaway participants are free to use it for themselves. The apartment can accomodate up to 4 people (2 double beds). There is a kitchen corner, living room, bathroom and dining area. They are also free to use the garden. If the apartment is booked, then participants are wellcomed in our house to spend the time with us, they will have their own bedroom, but kitchen, bathroom and living room are shared with a family (parents with two kids and a dog). We have a garden and a common space to hang out, make a fire, and relax.
What else ...
It is mountain valley, where life is quite laid back.. We like art, music, films. In the house we have a projector where we screen films from local filmmakers. In the village there are two bars, a shop and many mountain houses. There is a lot to do and because this is a very known place in Slovenia, sadly it is not affordable for most of budget travellers. With our open house we want to change that and give a chance to experience our beautiful environment to all.
We live in a mountain area so there is much to do, in the summer and also the winter time. During summer, in their free time, participants can go hiking, climbing, cycling, swimming in lakes. During winter they can snowboard, ski, ice skate, etc. The capital city of Ljubljana is only an hour away with a train and is a great place to go and treat yourselft to a cultural and artistic "food".
