Description
Hi there!
I'm a Belgian woman and proud mom of Juulke (13, almost 14). Every summer, Juulke heads back to Belgium, which leaves me with a little extra space, time, and a big wish to share my world again with wonderful Workawayers!
We live in the beautiful countryside of Alvaiázere, Portugal, in a lovingly renovated 200-year-old farmhouse surrounded by a lush garden. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of welcoming a few Workawayers, and I’ve truly cherished the exchange of energy, ideas, and stories. Life threw a few lemons my way and I had to pause hosting for a while — but now I’m more than ready to welcome fresh energy back into this space!
There’s always something to do here:
- The garden could use some love
- I’d love to bring chickens back — building a nice coop is high on the list
- Some stone walls need a bit of care
- I'm learning to build with cob, so if you're into natural building (or curious about it), we can experiment together!
I’m also very open to your ideas — whether you bring creative skills, green fingers, or something totally unexpected, I’d love to learn from you and make this a mutual experience.
You’ll have your own private room in the house, or if you're traveling by van, there’s space to park up comfortably.
If any of this sparks something in you, feel free to reach out. Who knows — this might be a great fit and the beginning of a beautiful shared adventure!
Looking forward to hearing from you already!

Sometimes it feels like life has stood still where we live. And in a way that is probably true...the pure Portuguese way of live shines bright here. We have been here for 8 years. If there is something going on in the area we will try to check it out and everyone who wants to join is very welcome. We love hearing other people stories and open ours to them.

We have a guestroom in the house, if you have a van you can park up in the garden or we have a bell tent in the garden if that's something you'd prefer
What else ...
We embrace all kinds of goodhearted people. Everybody has there own talents and contrubites in any way. We like to be surprised. As we live remote it can be hard to get around without a car. There is busses that will take you to Tomar, Coimbra, Lisbon,...if we know and have time we can bring you somewhere. We like to connect but also like people to think independent. There are no strict rules to the exchange but to much of anything is almost never a good thing...that could be our motto :)
