Description
Hello!
I am Liis from Estonia. I am a medical doctor with the most experience in family medicine but also emergency medicine and intensive care. I have a general medicine degree and recently I worked in emergency department in Finland.
My biggest passion is travelling to lesser known countries. For the past 3 years I have traveled to over 40 countries, including Iraq, Iran, Bolivia, Tanzania and Mongolia. My partner and I run a travel business offering different travel guides, photography and videography.
I enjoy fully immersing myself into a new culture I am in including wearing local clothes and eating what locals eat. This is why I enjoy being somewhere for at least a month to understand how the society actually works.
I am from the countryside and am not afraid of neither hard work nor getting our hands dirty.Interests

More details about your skills
I am a trained medical professional and have a license to practice in Estonia and Finland.
My main area of expertise is general / family medicine. During my medical studies I worked 2 years as a nurse in emergency department and intensive care.
During Covid in addition to working with patients, I also had an employed position at the national crisis committee working with the country's chief medical officer. During that time I was trained in civil protection and humanitarian aid, having basic skills with emergency medical teams, their leadership and systematic coordination. I am currently studying for an Expedition and Wilderness Medicine Diploma, which includes a range of different extreme environmens and also tropical diseases module.
I am also a trainer soft skills facilitator and lecturer and have been teaching people in all shapes and sizes about sexual health, mass casualty incidents and first aid.
I have also worked in the field of social impact evaluation for organisations and social enterprises.
With my non-clinical competencies—such as social impact evaluation, healthcare crisis plan coordination, and management, along with planning and hosting workshops from previous work experience—I can contribute on many different levels.
And as a generation who has grown up with computers, I know my way around technology.Age
