Most of our rescues have been through very hard times in their lifes. They have been abused, suffered unimaginable pain, solitude or illness. They need care, attention, love, acceptance and patience. We need help to socialize and train them. Especially our puppies and juniors are happy to have someone who show them how to walk on a leash, play and build up a connection.
Beside the social interactions we need a strong and helping hand to walk the adult dogs, pick up poo, carrying the dogs for example when they're paralyzed and bathing them, to clean the place and for mass feedings and rescues outside on the streets.

!! It's important that you're not affraid to get in touch with poo, vomit, pee and blood !!

!!!YOU WILL WORK WITH EMPLOYEES AND ASSOCIATION MEMBERS TOGETHER WHO ARE OFFICIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SHELTER!!!!

What is a 100% expected of you

-Cleaning their kennels from poo and
    garbage

8:15 AM - supervised feeding of all dogs
9:15AM - picking up poo /cleaning equipment after
    10:30AM - filling up water
    11:30AM - socializing

    (This is only an example!!!)

*If you’re good with construction work you can also help us during your shift with different construction tasks. (If needed)

*We’re always happy if someone with a good quality camera or phone is taking pictures and videos of our dogs during the socializing or hikes.

*outside of your shift you can help us with our TNVT castration and vaccination campaign on the streets if you want. We always need help to feed and rescue stray dogs for our campaign.

Our Helper House is 3 min away from the Refuge Property in the midst of hemp plantations and surrounded by beautiful mountains. It's a small and simple mountain house with a kitchen, a small toilet with a cold bucket shower and two rooms for the Volunteers with bunk beds. In front of the house is a little terrace. We’re next to a small, local shop. Please note that we have NO EUROPEAN STANDARD! We’re living as the local people, very minimalistic. Don’t visit us if you’re used to a certain standard.

    •You will have a bed in a shared room - 10qm - 2 to 6 people
•You're welcome to set up a tent in the summer.
•We live very minimalist, we cook with butan and we use and drink water from a natural water source next to our house.
•we have no hot shower, you must cook your hot water first.
•we have no general heating in winter, on very cold days we’re using a gas heater.
•in winter (december - march) it gets cold and rainy in the mountains.
•the summers can be very hot, we have no AC but a fan in the room.
    •the rooms are gender mixed
•our local team lives as well in the house
•cats are living in the house (for the case you’re allergic)
•in Morocco we DONT use toilet paper because there is no grey water system in the mountains - only cesspits. We use water as the rest of Africa.

    FOOD:
We offer one simple vegan cooked meal a day! Volunteers have to prepare the meal!

If you're craving for meat, sweets or anything special you can buy it from a shop nearby.

    || We cook vegan in the Refuge, that doesn't mean you're not allowed to eat meat.||
