I had a lovely time with Jaala and Jordan. They (also the family and friends) are very friendly, hospitable, thankful and relaxed.
I had my own bedroom with a comfortable bed. During my week-long stay I used the vegetables from the garden and made salsa - it was fun. I would also like to highlight the amazing and delicious food they prepared.

The city is very cute and I often went for a walk or watched a theater show.

Fantastic couple. Would be welcome back in an instant. Engaged in learning and discussion and fit into the house like a couple of younger siblings. Great self workers. … read more but beautiful village of Rosebud for two weeks and worked an average of 5 hours per day. There was not too much work with the bees because of the season but the beekeeping is total fun and Jordan is a good teacher. We made several renovations in the house and built an arbor out of wood. The work was always fun. We got to work on our own and with Jordan and Jaala as a team. Jaala and Jordan are the type of hosts that'll make sure you have a highly comfortable stay. They are a wonderful couple, but also a great team. … read more honest with them and show them that you are willing to try and work well, they'll be more than satisfied already. Working for them is smooth and really pleasant. Rosebud is such a unique place in Alberta. The views you get while gardening are stunning! This small village is well maintained by a tight community living mostly on the theater art. If you get to meet some of the great artists who live there, that will be a huge PLUS to your workaway experience. Outside the work, I got to meet a lot of their friends who are all incredible and we all did activities here and there : riding down Rosebud river on a tube, music sessions and bbq's in the courtyard, fires, movie and popcorn nights. I even got to help them on their property in Golden (BC) and had the chance to do white water rafting on the Kicking Horse river. Oh, and they are excellent cooks that mostly eat what they hunt and produce. They are not the type of people using canned mushrooms in their recipes. Jaala and Jordan, thank you so much for the great experience and the great hospitality you offered me. I am grateful that our paths crossed and this is the beginning of a great friendship. My stay at Jaala and Jordan was my first home-stay and it was wonderful in so many aspects. The two are very friendly, approachable and open which made it very enjoyable to work and stay with them. Jordan and Jaala cooked most of the meals and it was each time extremely delicious, healty and very fun to eat. I am very thankful for being welcomed in their home and being shown their very unique town. After work I had time to walk up the green hills and enjoy the breeze or to chill in their garden. On my last day they made it possible for me to go to Drumheller where I had a great day at the museum and the badlands. The week at their place was my last stop in Alberta and could not have been better than it was.
