Hello everyone :D
I’m Alice, I’m 26 years old and I just finished medical school in Cologne, Germany. Throughout the past years, I’ve tried to take every opportunity I could to go abroad and explore foreign countries, cultures and languages.

After graduating from high-school almost ten years ago, I took a gap year to go traveling through southern Africa and Morocco and joined the workaway community for the first time, working in hostels and a horse farm. I fell in love with it in an instant, since it opened the door to a whole new way of getting to know people and a country in a much more profound way than as a tourist.
Once I started medical school, it was clear to me that I wanted to repeat that experience, so I took a semester off after two years to explore south America and volunteer some more, this time in a hostel and a language school. Again, it was a lovely experience. Since I knew I couldn’t keep on taking breaks from my studies if I ever wanted to finish university, I also sought opportunities to combine traveling and medicine. I spent a semester abroad in beautiful Spain, and did various clinical rotations in Tunisia, Morocco, Spain and Mexico, which sparked the dream to combine my love for traveling and medicine in the future.

Now that residency is standing before me, I really wish to take advantage of the free time I have before that and go volunteer abroad once more to fill my head with beautiful friendships, lessons and memories for the years to come

cooking and baking
-no matter if it is cooking for a hungry crowd or baking a delicate pastry, put me in a kitchen and i'll be happy ^^
gardening
- unfortunately I only have my balcony to work with at the moment, but it's growing the cutest cucumbers, radishes and carrots you've ever seen!
- I love getting my hands dirty and being out in a garden where everything is buzzing and crawling and growing
DIY
- most of my furniture is second hand and customized in some way, I love using power tools and creating something new, especially out of furniture that would otherwise have ended up in the trash
arts and crafts
- knitting, painting, sewing, embroidering and more
planning and organizing
- I've been a member of the Erasmus Student Network for years now, where i gained a lot of experience in organizing trips and events for big groups (Group Dinners, City Tours, Game Nights, Hikes etc.)

- I love children and used to work as a summer camp supervisor as a teenager as well as a language teacher for young kids
