We spent about a month with Anna and Nico on Corfu, and the time flew by! We left feeling truly grateful for the experience — for the warmth, kindness, and all that we learned during our stay. We typically worked 5 hours a day. Tami mainly helped Anna in the garden with tasks like sowing seeds, planting seedlings, weeding, and cooking lunch for the family. Mario supported Nico with heavier gardening and landscaping work, including strimming, mowing, weeding, laying geotextile, and moving gravel by wheelbarrow. We also took care of the watering in the morning. The work was adapted to our strengths and preferences, which we really appreciated. One of the highlights was helping install an irrigation system in the garden, something that seemed complex at first, but ended up being super project. Once the summer heat kicked in, we adjusted our schedule and started earlier (around 7 a.m.) to avoid working in the midday sun. We stayed in one of the glamping domes with a beautiful view over the bay. Watching the sunset from there each evening was magical. The dome did get quite warm during the day due to the direct sun, but since we spent most of the day outside, it wasn’t a big issue — and at night, it cooled down nicely for sleeping with the windows and door open. Anna, Nico, and the kids were all incredibly welcoming. We had such a great time swimming together, joining family BBQs, and even going out to dinner on our last night. We loved our conversations, it was truly inspiring to see how they manage their business, raise their kids, and run a building project all at once, with so much presence and dedication. And we absolutely have to mention the animals! Two lovely cats and two sweet dogs, Bobby and Ally, they always made us smile. 🐶🐾 Using a compost toilet was a new experience for us, a small step outside our comfort zone — but we got used to it quickly and appreciated the sustainability of it. We’d absolutely recommend this Workaway to others. The surroundings are stunning, the beach quite close, and the olive groves are perfect for peaceful walks. We’re incredibly thankful we got to be part of this little paradise. 🌿✨

Thank you Yash for the experience of giving sports lessons to Indian youth and getting an insight into the daily life of your family! During the swimming and skating classes, Yash immediately put his trust in me and gave me responsibility and freedom in working with the teens and children. I also really appreciated getting to know your family better. It was a pleasure! I had good experiences, interesting conversations, had fun and felt welcome the entire time :)

I stayed 2 weeks with Udi and Natasha at chateau. We had great communication, Udi had a lot of patience for me for work in the garden. :) The garden is huge and there is always something to work. :) I had a privacy of my own apartment and they cared a lot that all food is provided for me. I really enjoyed interesting conversations with Udi and Natasha and especially walks with Natasha and our conversations and evenings by the lake . And - I have to add - Natasha is such a positive and lovely person, you cannot meet everywhere. :) She also prepares delicious (but always healthy) meals. They also provided me with a support for my travel (to find the cheapest and most convenient way to come and visit around). Highly recommend the hosts, especially if you like gardening. Chateau is also an amazing place, nature around is very nice and the air so clean. @Udi @Natasha - I hope we meet soon again :)

A warm, wonderful welcome to Ireland from the whole gang. We participated in a range of projects from gardening to DIY, event management, food service, woodland restoration and housekeeping. We made so many beautiful memories beside campfires, in the local pubs and in the day-to-day with the crew. So many interesting people come through this precious place. Thanks for everything guys! We miss you 🥹❤️

I had the most wonderful time with this beautiful family: Elena, Giovanni and their daughter. The room I stayed in was big, luxurious, clean . I had a big bedroom, an ensuite (with a fantastic shower), a sitting room. The house is glorious and so comfortable. But the best part was spending time together. They took me to the surrounding villages, to the city. I saw churches, ate at the most beautiful restaurants, saw a fantastic street parade (which ended with a big fire in the city square!). They’re all so kind and loving, and did everything they could, every single day to make my time there perfect! Fresh bread and endless gorgeous cheeses, and fruit. I had my coffee and breakfast in ceramics hand-made by Elena. In terms of work, I was very lucky to hang out and speak lots of English with their fun-loving and intelligent almost-12-year-old. We put lots of shoes on vinted together, we made up typefaces, and choreographed dances in the living room. I felt instantly welcomed, and accommodated to. I am so thankful. What a wonderful time I had. It was a pleasure to be around people who loved each other so much, and loved their life they have created for themselves. Thank you!

I had a lovely experience staying at Aaran’s and Mauritz’s place and looking after the amazing Gruff. He’s a big, cuddly sweetheart, and I loved spending the week with him. Even though I didn't get to meet Aaran and Mauritz in person, they were super welcoming, communicative, and made sure everything was clear and comfortable for the stay. I really appreciate the trust they placed in me to care for Gruff, and I’d absolutely recommend staying with them if you get the chance. I'd happily come back anytime!

Paula is an amazing young woman with a great attitude to life. She brings positivity and a can-do attitude with her, on top of her surfboard and her fully equipped van. Paula helped with many different tasks in the garden and around the house: cleaning the deck, chopping kindling, more cleaning, transporting and stacking firewood... and she looked after the property and house while I was away. Feeding chickens and keeping the house warm, including experiencing a power-cut. Paula also came to a school event and a dinner with neighbours, always contributing and easily partaking in conversations and whatever else was going on. Wishing you lots of fun and success! Kakite!

Anna si è subito inserita nel flusso della mia vita con naturalità, nonostante tante cose fossero "la prima volta". Ha affrontato anche alcuni disagi con stoicismo e buon umore, abbiamo riso di noi stesse (amate ironia e autoironia!) e la ringrazio per i tanti spunti di riflessione che mi ha donato. E un bellissimo regalo finale, di grande valore artistico ed umano, mi ha commosso e dato la definitiva prova dell'elevato grado di attenzione di cui è capace questa picciotta. Grazie e so che ci rivedremo presto!

The world should have more Adrias! Adria was easy to have around the house, interested in what we were doing, fitted in easily with other guests we had helping, and really pitched in with our native tree planting - which involved both mud and cold - with a refreshing team spirit and a easy grasp of the vision. We wish her well with her time in NZ - she has a lot to offer.

Anton recently spent around a week with us and it was a pleasure to host her. With a pleasant disposition, positive attitude and a smile we would highly recommend her. She is a keen learner and extremely perceptive which more than makes up for any language barriers. While here we, divided, potted and planted out multiple species of tropical plants and painted an external wall of the house. With her prior experience and nursery skills we accomplished way more than we had anticipated. In the home we found the dishwasher would miraculously be emptied, dishes put away - actually where they belong - or the table set etc. Anton is a beautiful, warm and passionate young women who we would welcome back anytime and again, highly recommend. We wish her well in her adventures.

Christie was a beautiful woman. We enjoyed having her as our work away for two weeks. She worked very focused and was dedicated to her cooking! She worked with a smile and her energy was so peaceful! Thanks a lot for staying with us!

We have spent two weeks with Jan and Larry and had a great time there. We were warmly welcomed in their beautiful home and got to stay in a lovely room. Working with the rhubarb was a nice experience. Especially because we were rewarded with delicious rhubarb cake and muffins. Jan and Larry also made sure that we could discover the area and took us on hikes, kayak trips, theatre visits and much more. Also, they share our enthusiasm for card games which was a lot of fun. We were inspired by their stories about their many travels and got some new ideas for our own travel plans. We are really thankful for the time and can recommend Jan and Larry as hosts.

Had more than a amazing time staying with Phillip Chibisa and staying in Dindano with his family. Learned so much about so many things. Phillip is super kind and takes really good care of his guests. The Chimbota project also make a real difference in the community and the work that Phillip and Kevin have done with this is nothing short of amazing. The place also stunning and the people are very kind and welcoming. Will never forget this special time and cant recommend it highly enough

It was wonderful having Yobee (Hyobin) as a volunteer on our farm, from day one, she fitted perfectly with our family and diverse group of volunteers with a warm and intelligent manner. She was tidy & considerate around the house and produced numerous delicious meals. On the work front, she has an Incredible work ethic and willingness to turn their hand to whatever needed doing. Her main task was clearing bush, which is hard work, but she proved more than up to the task and needed minimal supervision. If you get the chance to host her, grab it with both hands.

Es war mein erster Workaway Aufenthalt und was soll ich sagen: Es war perfekt! ☺️ Nicole ist eine unfassbar nette Person, das Haus sowie der Garten wunderschön und die gesamte Organisation und der Ablauf haben reibungslos funktioniert. Ich habe mich von der ersten Minute an wohl gefühlt. Erst dachte ich, dass Nicole ebenfalls neu bei Workaway ist, da sie wenige Bewertungen hat. Es hat sich aber gezeigt, dass sie ein echter Profi ist, nur bislang noch keine Bewertungen erhalten hat. Ich habe Nicole bei der Gartenarbeit unterstützt und war dabei sehr flexibel. Die Aufgaben waren klar und absolut fair. Die Arbeitszeit konnte ich mir frei einteilen, sodass ich bei gutem Wetter auch Ausflüge machen konnte. Auch haben wir oft zusammen gesessen, gequatscht oder sind gemeinsam etwas trinken gegangen. Nicole hat mir viel über das Land und die Kultur erzählt und all' meine Fragen beantwortet. Es war einfach ein toller Austausch! Danke Nicole, dass ich dein Gast sein durfte und ich hoffe, wir sehen uns mal wieder 🤗

It was a pleasure having Elsa & Cassandre volunteer on the Farm. They assisted by showing visitors around the farm and with numerous other incidental jobs that came up... including some harvesting of the pepper. It was quite busy with tourists while they were with us and their ability to conduct tours in French was much appreciated.

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Sara and her lovely family and felt incredibly welcome from the very beginning. The work was always clear, manageable, and left us with plenty of time to explore the area. We got amazing tips for activities and also really enjoyed the shared trips and adventures together. Because it was school holidays, we had lots of fun playtime with the kids – it was a joy to be part of their daily lives. We also had some cozy movie and game nights, which made us feel even more at home. The food was always delicious, and we appreciated the chance to cook from time to time as well. We had many great conversations about travel, life in New Zealand, and creative ideas. We truly felt like part of the family – something very special that we are extremely grateful for. Thank you for everything – it was an inspiring, warm, and unforgettable experience!

Shu stayed with us through Workaway and was an absolute joy to host. He’s one of the kindest and most polite people we’ve ever met—always respectful, friendly, and easy to be around. From the moment he arrived, he jumped right into helping out and brought such a great attitude to everything he did. He helped us with weeding, mowing the grass, and a bunch of other outdoor tasks, and honestly, he did way more than we ever expected. Anytime we mentioned that something needed to be done, he was off and running before we even had to ask. He was always eager to help, often putting in far more hours than required and even seeming reluctant to take breaks! When he wasn't working, he was playing with her daughters, who absolutely fell in love with him. They cried when he left. We told them he promised he would come back. We really appreciated having him around and are so grateful for everything he contributed. We’d welcome him back in a heartbeat and highly recommend him to any future host. You’ll be lucky to have him!
